Our team

Chris is Founding Director (previously joint Managing Director for 25 years) of the Green Building Store. Since its founding, the Company has become widely recognized as a pioneer in sustainable and low energy construction and construction products. In 2010 the Company completed one of the first certified Passivhaus homes in the UK, near Huddersfield, and has gone on to promote and educate in Passivhaus as well as developing expertise in deep retrofit and more ecologically appropriate products and solutions. Chris was a founder of the UK Passivhaus Trust and has been Chair since its inception in 2010. He is ex-Chair and a long-standing Trustee of the Association for Environment Conscious Building. Among his regional activities, Chris is a Kirklees Climate Commissioner, chairing the Management Group, has been a member of the Yorkshire and Humber Climate Commission Net Zero Panel as well as an advisor to Kirklees Council on energy-efficient building.
